You may know that I started off as a corporate tax lawyer before becoming a clothing designer. But what you may not know is why I started my clothing line. What is my mission?

As a corporate lawyer, I’ve always needed to dress a bit more formally for work. Suits, tailored pants, skirts, or dresses, and yes, stockings (most of the time. But I’ll save that discussion for another day.) And honestly, I like to dress more formally even when others may be more business casual. I love the feeling I get when I know I look great; when I put on a particularly smashing outfit or new pair of heels. I feel polished, professional, and confident, and I’m certain that the energy that comes from that feeling reflects outward.

I knew what I was looking for, but it was difficult to find clothes that were chic and well-made. Much of what is offered to women is either dowdy or cheap, and made out of cheap-looking and environmentally unfriendly synthetic fabrics. I felt certain I could do better! And so I started Jane Israel.

With Jane Israel, you can expect to find clothes made from luxury fabrics that are stylish and sophisticated. Modern classics that you will wear for years to come. 

I want to see more women wearing elegant, chic clothes and I am so excited at the opportunity to bring them to you! Because when you dress well it’s a sign that you respect yourself and that you demand that others respect you as well. And when they respect you, they pay you.
